Space Grant (2012/2013)

Michelle Boulé is a “Bessie” Award-winning dance artist, teacher, transformational coach, and healer who explores the connections between movement, consciousness, human potential, and creativity. She has received commissions and presentations from Triple Canopy, The Chocolate Factory, Met Breuer (with Okkyung Lee), Danspace Project, River to River, American Realness, ISSUE Project Room, Movement Research at the Judson Church, Mount Tremper Arts Festival, The Kitchen, amongst others. She’s worked as a collaborative performer with numerous choreographers, including Bebe Miller, John Jasperse, Deborah Hay, Aine Stapleton, and Miguel Gutierrez (2001-15). Awards received include a NYFA Choreography Fellowship, Distinguished Legacy Award (University of Illinois), New Music USA Grant, Boekelheide Creativity Award, Jerome Travel & Study Grant, FCA Emergency Grants, and residencies from Baryshnikov Arts Center, PICA Creative Exchange Lab, Summer Stages Dance @The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston, MacDowell, Yaddo, Bemis, Movement Research, and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Extended Life Program. Boulé has taught at universities and institutions throughout North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
