IT WAS THE PARTY OF THE YEAR!
In celebration of “los quince” years of EmergeNYC, and the miles de reinas, chambelanes, and artists it has nurtured, BAX | Brooklyn Arts Exchange hosted a QUEERCEAÑERA a queering of the quinceañera! On October 19th, 2023 we gathered with our beloved extended community of artists to celebrate, reconnect, and show gratitude for the people who have ushered this organization through the years.
The evening at 3 Dollar Bill—hosted by River L. Ramirez and DJ’d by Chata—featured:

All proceeds from ticket sales, shirts, raffle purchases, and donations to the gift table went to support the program directly.
Partygoers wore ball gowns, tuxes, ruffles, tiaras, wigs, gloves, colors & sparkles—like it was their own Queerceañera. For some, it was the quince celebration they never had at age 15!

Tickets purchased at $75 or subsidized additional low-cost tickets to our community.
Tickets purchased at $225 or above also received a swag bag including limited-edition Queerceañera shirts, stickers, and makeup by Fluide. No one was turned away for lack of funds. 3 Dollar Bill is wheelchair accessible.
