Art by Construction Workers | A Virtual Exhibition

Aki Kumono with a painting

Making artwork is nothing but a fight with myself and society to create value. My art is based on the two existences of the present and future. My pieces reflect the mystical nature of time with unclear lines of the present and future. Through my art I am exploring how our vision of life can go from blurred and veiled to clear and colorful. To demonstrate this my work predominantly features children, because children are the physical manifestation of the present and future. I am also interested in portraying the absolute hope that children give to society, as they are beings of complete potential. When adult society becomes clouded, the new generation will always be the ones to provide courage, strength, and vitality to face and improve upon the mistakes of the older generation. This hope of what a child represents, this is what I strive to portray in my artwork.
