NOW MORE THAN EVER
Click here to donate on-line Dear Friend, In March 2007 we began the most ambitious project BAX has ever embarked on. Since then, with the help of our students, artists and community members we have nearly completed a facility project that doubles the amount of our space. I cannot really say enough about the community of supporters whose generous contributions made this possible. Little did we know just how crucial individual contributors would be at the end of 2008. Not surprisingly we have already heard from several of our long time funders that they will have to "take a pass"this year. Our contracts with the city, state and pubic schools have been significantly reduced and more of you have applied for financial assistance. We are determined to honor our commitments to YOU and to our community. I sincerely urge you to become part of this effort! No amount is too little or too large! I have lived in Park Slope for over twenty five years, raised my kids here, and founded the Brooklyn Arts Exchange here. I walk the six blocks to work each day and on the way meet BAX artists whose lives have evolved and changed, BAX students who have grown up and sometime have kids of their own. In 2009 we start our eighteenth year as a vital neighborhood home for students, artists & audiences. We've been recognized citywide and nationally for building a house and a home for the arts in Brooklyn. Walk through our red doors and feel the energy of young people and emerging artists Ð travel with us to the public schools we are in residence and hear theater alive in Spanish & English Ð the work of arts and artists changing lives. I think that's valuable and hope you do too. We have weathered a major move in 1998 and a major capital expansion over the past 18 months. WITH YOUR HELP we will weather this current financial storm as well. NOW MORE THAN EVER every contribution counts and is deeply appreciated. But please do it now. If everyone contributes what they can it will make a huge impact and go a long way to support the programs our community counts on! Thank you,
