SPACE RENTAL AND POLICIES

BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange provides low-cost rehearsal space to hundreds of artists working in a variety of performing arts disciplines each year in its four beautiful, clean, and well-equipped rehearsal studios located in the BAX BUILDING at 421 Fifth Avenue. All studios are suitable for dance or theater rehearsals. BAX also offers rentals for classes, meetings, auditions, children's birthday parties and performance packages for self-productions. STUDIO A	Located on the second floor, this newly developed rehearsal space is 26 x 32 and features a sprung oak wood floor.
STUDIO B	Located on the second floor, this newly developed rehearsal space is 26 x 30 and features a sprung oak wood floor and mirrors.
STUDIO C	Located on the third floor, this space is 20x30 and features a hardwood floor, mirrors, and portable barres.
BAX THEATER/STUDIO D	Located on the third floor, this multi-purpose space doubles as BAX's 70 Seat Theater as well as a rehearsal studio. The rehearsal space is 27.5 x 37 and features a hardwood floor, riser seating, black curtains, and lighting equipment*.

AMENITIES: BAX Studios are open and staffed for rentals between 9:00 AM-10:30 PM Monday-Sunday excluding some holidays. All studios are equipped with CD/Cassette Sound System, A/C, natural and fluorescent light, access to a DVD/VCR and Monitor, tables and chairs. Some limited storage is available for consistent renters with advance approval from the staff. Renters have access to a dressing room and bathroom facilities.

REHEARSAL RATES/POLICIES

Rehearsal Rate: $10/hour Monday-Friday before 6pm and on the weekends. Weekdays (M-F) after 6pm, rehearsal rentals are $12/hour.

Rental payments are to be paid on the same day of rental or payments may also be made prior to the rental. Renters are expected to pay outstanding balances immediately or forfeit their rental privileges. Rental payments are non-refundable.

New renters must make a full payment in advance towards their first booking and a $15 yearly equipment fee (non-refundable) - by cash, check or credit card if paid in person, or by credit card if over the phone. Renters must renew their equipment fee yearly. Upon their first visit to BAX (either to reserve first booking or to attend first booking) new renters must sign a Rental Contract/Rules of the Space Agreement.

There is a strict 72-hour cancellation policy. Rentals cancelled less than 72 hours in advance will be charged. Rental payments are to be paid in a timely manner, on the same day of rental or in advance. Rental payments are non-refundable.

REDUCED RATE PACKAGES
With a commitment of 20 hours/month for a minimum of 3 months, the rehearsal rate is reduced to $9/hour Monday-Friday before 6pm and on the weekends, weekdays (M-F) after 6pm, $11/hour. Hours booked over 20 hours are charged the applicable hourly rate.

Details on Reduced Rate Packages:

		Months committed to must be continuous
		Above the 20 hours/month, additional time may be booked at the applicable hourly rate
		Hours unused or cancelled under the 20 hours cannot carry over to next month
		First and last month rent due at time of signing rental contract
		Yearly equipment fee required
		Package is intended for rehearsals only!
		Renters are entitled to priority booking before space is open to general public
